We are a 501(c)(3) Volunteer Fire Department that formed in Seligman, Arizona in 2007.Our Response areas mainly include those areas outside of the Seligman Fire District response area.Our response area consists of a 60 miles radius of the Seligman area, including Bridge Canyon Estates(our main base).Portions of Sierra Verde Estates,portions of Westwood Ranches(a subdevelopment and cattle Ranch mixed)east of Seligman off Route 66, and an entire area west of Seligman on Rt 66 which includes the area of Hyde Park(which is another large subdevelopment)and Pica Camp(a cattle Ranch) are subject to subscription for services by our Department. These areas ARE on Yavapai County record as being included in our response area plan and areas we do respond to, regardless of what Seligman Fire may specify.

Our income is solely relied upon donations and/or subscriptions.We are not funded by any County or State taxation levies and the population of our response area is not taxed for our Services.We do not charge for any of our Services as well(except subscriptions for outlying areas).

The areas we serve are areas of very low or mid-class income levels and MOST do not have the money to keep us Funded,therefore we work hard in order to try and keep the Department funded out of our own pockets.Most Grantgivers do not even look our way becuase most of the Grants require "fund matching" meaning you must first have either the funds or the equipment to match the amount of funds the Grantgivers give you and in our case we cannot match those Grant funds becuase of our very low budgeting and we are not entitled to Federal,State or County funding or tax levies due to the fact we are not a Federal,State or County "Entity" nor a District.

Our Mission Statement

To ensure that people that are in outlying and remote areas that do not recieve or have the assurance of Fire and Medical Services to recieve quality Fire and Medical Responses.

Our Communications

We use radiotelephones for our communications and for taking our calls.We are not dispatched by the County but instead we are dispatched by the people of the Communities we serve.Being we are in a very rural area of the State,we felt Radiotelephones would fill our needs sufficiently since there are no telephone services near our response areas(except cellphones).With these types of radios,we are able to answer our calls no matter where we are as long as we are within range of our repeater which is usually within a 50 mile radius and we are not required to be around a landline based phone.We have tried pagers in the past but becuase of the terrains,they was not as efficient.

We also still use the outdoor type siren alerts that are also tied into our radiotelephone system.This is becuase if we are called and some of our staff is away at work and cannot recieve the calls but others are around the area but may have thier radios off and in "charging mode",they will still be able to know there is a call.This siren system is also sufficient for those "new" members that we do not have radios yet for.Due to the fact that our response areas also do not have electricity,most of our electronic and electrical equipment is 12VDC and runs off of our solar charging system,including our outdoor sirens.
